Cody & Megan's Fall Fair for Food Security

Mom & son, Cody and Megan believe in helping the environment and bringing good changes to the community in which they live, and so they organize fundraisers for a local charity on the Sunshine Coast every year, since 2021.

They’ve helped the SPCA in Sechelt, Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons, Earth Store in Pender Harbour, and this year, One Straw Society is their lucky charity of choice.  As a part of their fundraising, they believe in working for those funds, and so this year they will be walking for 24 hours (100,000 steps!!!) along with hosting a mini fall fair! They are very excited to support One Straw and look forward to a bake off, market and pumpkin carving at the Seaside center on Saturday, Oct. 19! Their adventures can be seen on kelsosclimateaction.ca

Take a look around One Straw Society’s website to see what they’re supporting, but in particular, One Straw’s new food waste / commissary kitchen!
