Farmstand Tips
Check Social Media
Farm stands don’t always have consistent hours, but weekends are usually a good bet. Some are open every day, and some only once in a while, so have a look at social media to see their latest updates.
Bring Cash
A lot of small farms now also offer e-transfer, but it’s still common that stands are cash only. Honour the honour system, never short-change small farms, and send your e-transfers at the time of purchase!
Handle Food with Care
Produce is typically super fresh! Be mindful to take care of produce – if you bruise, drop, or damage produce or eggs, please buy it!
Respect Privacy
Farmstands are usually close or connected to people’s homes. Don’t enter the property, open gates or knock on doors, unless signage invites you to do so. Try to not block any driveways if possible!
